“WE TOO MUST PLAY OUR PART.” - SIR DAVID ATTENBOROUGH, UNITED NATIONS CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE 2018

I live and work in South Oxfordshire with my family and other animals; cats, collie dog, some hens and 3 colonies of bees. I enjoy being outside and love birds, mountains, camp fires and swimming in cold water. Before becoming a Designer I worked in photography, researching images and organising photo shoots for newspapers and magazines. It sounds creative, but the reality was largely admin and a lot of office politics so I re-trained, studying dressmaking, upholstery and furniture restoration. I also spent time working as a builder’s labourer in France, learning traditional building and decorating techniques. It was there a chance encounter sparked my love of decoupage and I developed the unique skills I use to create my handmade, feature walls. I have been obsessively deconstructing bird books ever since.

Ellen MacArthur foundation About page.png

In 2018 I discovered the work of the Ellen MacArthur foundation and their mission to speed our transition to something called the Circular Economy. This looks beyond our current culture of take-make-dispose and aims to redefine growth, focusing on positive society-wide benefits. Sounds airy fairy, but these ideas are fast gathering momentum and now underpin many of even our own Conservative government’s most important strategies. The Circular Economy looks set to bring about some very big and very exciting changes to the way we live and I am proud to play my own small part by helping to Make Interiors Circular.

(not half as boring as it sounds).
